A landlord has been ordered to pay in excess of £3,000 in costs after a court appeal against a fire safety enforcement notice was dismissed.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) issued the warning to the landlord to address the fire safety deficiencies in the house of multiple occupation that was located in the west end area of Morecambe.
Lancaster Magistrates Court heard how an inspection of the property by LFRS found significant failings under the order.
This legislation necessitates the Responsible person to carry out a suitable Fire Risk Assessment to ensure their property is safe for those who are living in it. It also means that if a fire were to start, all people inside the premises would be able to escape safely.
